ASCAP has announced the initial lineup for the “I Create Music” expo, which will feature panels, workshops, master classes, keynotes and one-on-one sessions.

Jason Mraz tops the initial bill for the conference, the largest in the US for songwriters, composers, artists and producers. Most recently, Mraz has appeared on Broadway in Sara Bareilles’ musical Waitress. Mraz is also a board member of the ASCAP Foundation and serves as chief creative officer for the Jason Mraz Foundation.

Also slated to appear is Songwriters’ Hall of Fame inductee Desmond Child, known for his work on “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Dude Looks Like a Lady,” and “Livin’ La Vida Loca.” Child has been topping the charts for over 50 years, most recently with Zedd‘s “Beautiful Now.”

Grammy winners Marc Cohn and Dan Wilson will make appearances, along with Latin Grammy winner Claudia Brant, legendary jazz bassist Marcus Miller and Billie Eilish, who was selected for BBC Sound of 2018.

Returning to the expo is songwriter, arranger and producer Darrell Brown, hosting all-day song feedback sessions for multiple genres.

ASCAP’s president and CEO, Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning songwriter Paul Williams, is a featured guest as well.

The expo will take place over three days, May 7-9, at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
