Barbra Streisand and songwriter Desmond Child on Saturday (Oct. 31) shared a new lyric video for the track “Lady Liberty,” which appeared on Streisand’s 2018 album, Walls, and features lyrics that urge others to make their voices heard.
“I recorded ‘Lady Liberty’ in 2018, but the message seems more urgent now than ever,” said Streisand in a statement. “The key lyric, ‘The real danger lies in the sound of silence.’ So make your voice heard, please vote!”
Child added that when he wrote “Lady Liberty,” he couldn’t have predicted the situation we’d all find ourselves in 2020.
“I share this video with Barbra as a reminder that we need to ‘raise our voices even louder’ and vote!”
